My muse by nomichs My muse by nomichs
This was a sculpture for a contest done by Sculpted Spirits(a fantasy sculpture club). The theme was to sculpt the being that is the source of your inspiration:your muse. I figured since i don't know what i'm doing half the time, niether would my muse.

My muse by ~nomichs is a delightful sculpt, the little details such as the stressed expression, the over laden paper work and especially the "musing for dummies" book. ( Featured by Thebuild )

Aha, that's genius. I love how his whole look is sort of old fashioned, but he has the modern "Dummies" book in his hand. great work :D

I usually expect the image of a muse to be a beautiful woman fairy type creature, which is what makes this piece so very awesome.

This is so cool - my muse would probably be a fantasy four-legged beast that has a habit of running away quickly and leaving me with no inspiration XD!

Congratulations on the Daily Deviation. I absolutely love it, great textures and details. One teeny, tiny critique, some idea of size/scale would be a nice touch in the photo.

ok so i'm working on a sculpture, and i'm almost ready to bake it then paint it. but i have no idea what to use to paint it. can you use just normal oil paints? or is there a good paint to use. i like the way you painted yours here.

How tall is this? I get the impression of around 4 inches, but the detail is fantastic--back when I was working at a collectible store, that sort of detail was a selling point/calling card for certain lines.

The book, and the pencil tucked behind the ear are wonderful...and his expression. :) This really brings a smile to my face.

The slightly tired, droopy eyes bespeaks of a tired persona mayhap even a physical representation of a "tired thought". One that requires a manual on how to be creative (the Dummies guide to Musing). Given that this is a representation of a creative muse the whole image is ironic and amusing to boot. This sculpture is wonderfully done to all the wonderful details/textures we see and the thought behind it:-) I hope you fared well in the contest.
